Editorial policy

Every claim on Norynt has to come from a measurement we can take, a published standard, or documented research. If we cannot point to one of those, we do not state it.

Where a page relies on outside documentation, the sources are listed in the Technical references section at the end of the page so you can check them yourself.

Nobody can pay to be recommended on Norynt. We take no payment, commission or free hardware in exchange for advice, placement or a mention of a provider, router, VPN or app.

If advertising is added in future it will be clearly labelled as advertising, kept visually separate from editorial content, and will have no influence on what an article or a result says.

We report what the test returns. We do not tune, weight or round results to look better, and no provider, network or location receives different treatment.

When a measurement is missing or the conditions were unreliable, we reduce the confidence shown and cap any rating that depends on it, rather than filling the gap with an estimate.

A measured value is a fact. A likely cause is not. Norynt labels possible causes as hypotheses, ranks them by the strength of the evidence, and shows the evidence that supports and contradicts each one.

Where a hypothesis can be tested, we offer a verification step so you can confirm or rule it out instead of taking our word for it.

Standards, browsers and typical home equipment change. We revisit published articles when a relevant standard, tool or recommendation changes, and when readers tell us something has moved on.

Each article shows when it was published and when it was last updated. Substantive changes are handled under our corrections policy.
