About the Test

Norynt is an Internet Health Platform: test it, understand it, fix it. Download and upload capacity are measured with Measurement Lab's NDT7 using the official @m-lab/ndt7 client: a ~10-second download transfer followed by a ~10-second upload transfer against a nearby M-Lab server.

Connection quality is measured separately by Norynt. Short HTTP probes to this site's nearest edge location are timed continuously to derive idle latency, jitter, latency under download load and latency under upload load. Throughput consistency and connection stability are computed from the variability of those samples.

Direct packet loss cannot be measured from a web browser, which has no access to raw ICMP or UDP sockets. Norynt therefore reports packet loss as unavailable and shows the share of probes that did not return as an explicitly labelled estimate — it is not packet loss.

Results reflect real-world conditions at the moment of the test: Wi-Fi signal, other devices on your network and congestion along the path can all influence the numbers. When a required measurement is missing, the affected capability rating is capped rather than guessed.
